Vice President of Finance and Associate CFO
Darcy J. Davis, CPA, joined Memorial University Medical Center
as vice president of finance in 2006. She began her career in public
accounting, working with a wide variety of healthcare clients including
long-term care facilities, hospitals, ambulatory care providers,
home health agencies, and preferred provider organizations. After
obtaining licenses as a certified public accountant and a nursing
home administrator, Davis left public accounting but remained in
the healthcare field. She spent the next several years working as
a member of the senior financial team for CareSouth Home Health,
Inc., and its sister company Central Georgia HHS, Inc. These companies
focused on home health management, as well as the operation of infusion,
hospice, durable medical equipment, and managed care services. During
the implementation of the Balanced Budget Act, Davis used her home
health expertise as a reimbursement and financial consultant working
with HealthCorp of Tennessee, Inc., and their large client base
across the United States.
Davis then served as assistant vice president of finance at Phoebe
Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. During her time there, she
was instrumental in the issuance of $72 million in revenue certificates
after the hospital obtained an “Aa” rating from Moody’s
and Standard and Poor’s. She assisted with the start-up of
an offshore captive insurance vehicle and implemented a new treasury
system for the hospital.
Davis earned her BBA in accounting from Mercer University and her MSM in healthcare administration from Troy State University. She is a certified public accountant in Georgia and Tennessee.
