
Senior Vice President and Chief Medical
Officer
Ramon V. Meguiar, M.D., became senior vice president and chief
medical officer in 2005. He is a board-certified obstetrician and
gynecologist and past chief of staff at MUMC. He is also a past
member of our Board of Directors.
Dr. Meguiar grew up in Georgia. He attended Georgia State College
and the University of Georgia before earning his medical degree
at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Meguiar then completed
his internship and residency training at the Naval Regional Medical
Center in Portsmouth, Va. After practicing at hospitals in Cherry
Point, N.C., and Jesup, Ga., he moved to Savannah in 1989.
Dr. Meguiar is an associate clinical professor at the Medical College
of Georgia and an assistant professor at Mercer University School
of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. Until his appointment as chief medical
officer, he served as vice chair of the OB/GYN residency program
at MUMC. He has been recognized for excellence in resident education
by the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Meguiar is a fellow in the American College of Obstetricians
and Gynecologists and a member of numerous professional organizations.
He has also donated his services as a medical volunteer in Ghana,
Zimbabwe, and Nigeria.
