When Memorial Hospital first opened its
doors back in 1955, a group of dedicated citizens gave their time
and energy to become its fist volunteers. Today, volunteers from
all walks of life still play a crucial role at Memorial University Medical Center.
Volunteers give a few hours each week to:
- Talk to, listen to, and comfort patients
- Help with office work, such as answering telephones and filing
- Assist busy nurses or other Team Members as needed
- Much more
While working at Memorial, our volunteers make a difference in the lives of others, meet new friends,
stay active, and make our community healthier. They also enjoy:
- Free meals
- Free parking
- Memorial Credit Union privileges
- In-service educational opportunities
- Pharmacy discounts
- Opportunities to participate in special events and activities at Memorial
University Medical Center
There are numerous volunteers opportunities in patient care areas, nursing units, business offices, or at fundraising activities.
