PALS Provider Course Scheduled for 06/17-18/2008
This is to notify you that it is required, unless you can provide a current American Heart Association ACLS and/or PALS card, to register for the upcoming ACLS and/or PALS course(s). Please read the following carefully to ensure your success in the program(s). The course(s) will be held in the Hoskins Center building from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. As a course participant you are responsible for the following:
- Obtaining an ACLS and/or PALS Provider Manual with CD-ROM from Clinical Education Department. They are available for loan 30 days prior to your course date. You may purchase the course book for $30, if you wish.
- You must complete the 3 ACLS and/or PALS Self-Assessment Modules on the CD-ROM. Rhythm strip identification, pharmacology, and practical application are all discussed. There is no passing score in the self-assessment modules. However, a score of 80 percent or higher will help you participate effectively in the learning stations.
- Please PRINT out your ACLS and/or PALS self-assessment and bring to class. This is a course requirement!
- If you are taking ACLS for the first time, it is recommended that you attend the cysrhythmia recognition Course and the ACLS prep course, both of which are offered on separate dates prior to each ACLS Provider class.
Classes start promptly at 8 a.m. Be on time. Wear comfortable clothes. It is always a god idea to bring a light sweater or long sleeved shirt whenever you are going to be sitting in a class. No food or beverages will be provided.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Clinical Education must be notified of intent to cancel 7 days prior to course date. Cancellations must be made in writing via email to Ron Wiggins, LS Coordinator at wiggiro1@memorialhealth.com. A course fee of $75 will be deducted from the Team Member's paycheck if cancellation policy is not followed or the Team Member fails to attend the class. Purchased textbooks are non-refundable.
If you have any questions, please call either myself or the registrar at 912-350-3541.
Sincerely,
Ron Wiggins
