Spiritual Care
We understand that healing involves more than just the body, it involves the mind and spirit as well. Although religion and spirituality are closely related, they are not identical. That's why, in addition to prayer, our Department of Spiritual and Religious Care offers mental and emotional support for patients and their families. By offering these services, we are better able to help people experience wholeness in the healing process.
Our Department of Spiritual and Religious Care includes a team of full-time chaplains, more than 10 on-call contract chaplains, and volunteers. Our team is able to administer sacraments and conduct worship services. Other services include emotional/spiritual support, spiritual counseling/direction, assistance in accepting and coping with a diagnosis, assistance with end-of-life issues, ethical consultation, assistance with the organ/tissue donation process, and crisis intervention.
Contact the Department of Spiritual and Religious Care at 912-350-8335.
