Stephen “Jan” Grigsby joined Memorial University Medical Center in 2012 as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Grigsby is responsible for our finance division, including materials management and revenue cycle management. He has more than 18 years of experience in healthcare financial leadership.

Grigsby came to Savannah from Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida, where he served as CFO. He was part of a leadership team that orchestrated an operational turnaround at Jupiter. Grigsby helped develop and implement cost-cutting initiatives, growth plans, and joint venture partnerships to help ensure the long-term viability of the medical center. Prior to that, Grigsby was CFO at Methodist Hospital North, part of Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare System in Memphis. He was again part of a senior team that executed a major turnaround plan for the hospital. Prior to that, Grigsby served as CFO and chief operating officer at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, Alabama. Before transitioning to healthcare financial leadership, Grigsby worked in several clinical roles over a nine-year period.

Grigsby completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University and the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He earned his Master in Health Care Administration degree at the University of Kentucky. He is a fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
