
Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Patricia (Patty) Massey-Lavely was named vice president and chief information
officer at Memorial University Medical Center in 2006. She oversees
the day-to-day operations and strategy of our information services
(I.S.) team. Before joining Memorial, Massey-Lavely was chief information
officer at Phoebe Putney Health System in Albany, Ga. Prior to that,
she was with Promina Health System in Atlanta, where she worked
her way up from director of physician services and information systems
to vice president and chief information officer. She began her career
as a payroll manager at Columbia/HCA MedFirst.
Massey-Lavely is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management
Systems Society, the American College of Healthcare Executives,
and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives.
She is a certified healthcare executive by the American College
of Healthcare Executives and a certified professional in healthcare
information management. Massey-Lavely is also a former member of the Georgia
VHA CIO Council (a private cooperative that serves nonprofit healthcare
organizations nationwide) and the National VHA I.T. Executives Affinity
Group. In addition, she serves on the McKesson Integration Advisory
Council.
Massey-Lavely earned her bachelor’s degree in science at Shorter
College in Rome, Ga. She is in the process of completing her MBA
at Florida State University.
