Igor Aksenov, M.D., Ph.D.
Igor Aksenov, M.D. Dr. Aksenov attended medical school at the Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. He completed his residency training and a fellowship in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He served as head physician of the intensive care unit and director of the hyperbaric medicine unit at Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. He was also associate dean, professor, and director of the hyberbaric medicine program at Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Netherlands Antilles (Dutch Caribbean). Dr. Aksenov practices at Memorial Health University Physicians -- Savannah Center for Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

Blaire L. Baisden, M.D.
Dr. Baisden specializes in anatomical and clinical pathology and practices at Savannah Pathology Services. Baisden received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her internship and her residency in anatomical and clinical pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Baisden is board certified in anatomical and clinical pathology.

Steven Brower, M.D.
Steven Brower, M.D.Dr. Brower is senior vice president and director of the Anderson Cancer Institute and professor and chairman of the department of surgery for Mercer University School of Medicine, Savannah Campus. He earned his medical degree at the State University of New York and completed a general surgery residency at the Lahey Clinic and the Boston University Medical Center. Brower completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He came to Memorial from Mount Sinai in New York City and is a recognized expert in minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal, esophageal, hepatic, pancreatic, and adrenal disorders. Brower is also a Distinguished Cancer Clinician and Scientist for the Georgia Cancer Coalition. He practices at ACI -- Surgical Associates.

James Burke, II, M.D.
Dr. Burke is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University in Chicago. Following that, he obtained fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Burke practices at ACI -- Surgical Associates.

William E. Check, M.D.
Dr. Check specializes in pathology and practices at Savannah Pathology Services. Check earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Wayne State University. He completed his internship and residency in pathology at the Medical College of Georgia. He is board certified in anatomical and clinical pathology.

Paula DeNitto, M.D.
Paula DeNitto, M.D.Dr. DeNitto specializes in general surgery and breast disease. She attended college at the University of Georgia -- Athens, and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She then completed her internship and residency training in general surgery at Memorial University Medical Center. DeNitto co-founded the Memorial Health University Physicians -- Center for Breast Care, the only facility in the region that specializes exclusively in the treatment of breast conditions.

John Duttenhaver, M.D.
John Duttenhaver, M.D.Dr. Duttenhaver specializes in radiation oncology. He studied zoology at the University of Georgia -- Athens, and then attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He completed an internship at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver before doing his residency training in radiation therapy at Harvard Medical School. Duttenhaver practices in the Radiation Oncology Department at the Anderson Cancer Institute.

Phillip B. Flexon, M.D.
Phillip B. Flexon, M.D.Dr. Flexon specializes in all aspects of head and neck surgery, thyroid surgery, and sleep apnea. He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. He then completed his residency training at Harvard Medical School: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Beth Israel Hospital, and Boston’s Children’s Hospital. Flexon is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and holds a national certification in hyperbaric medicine. He practices at ACI – Surgical Associates.

Donald Gallup, M.D.
Donald Gallup, M.D.Dr. Gallup specializes in gynecologic oncology. He graduated with honors from Clemson College and received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He trained as a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at the Naval Hospital in San Diego and completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He practices at ACI -- Surgical Associates.

James Garber, M.D.
James Garber, M.D.Dr. Garber is a fellowship-trained surgical oncologist. He attended the Medical College of Georgia and completed his surgery residency at Memorial University Medical Center. Garber did his fellowship in surgical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. He specializes in all aspects of cancer surgery and the multidisciplinary approach to solid tumors. He practices at ACI -- Surgical Associates.

Cynthia Gonzales, M.D.
Cynthia Gonzales, M.D.Dr. Gonzales is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the George and Marie Backus Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. She has clinical interests in bleeding disorders and cancer genetics. Gonzales attended the University of the Phillippines and the University of the Phillippines College of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Cook County Children's Hospital in Chicago. Gonzales is a member of the Children's Oncology Group and is a registered investigator with the National Cancer Institute. She speaks English, Tagalog, and Chinese.

Christopher Haberman, M.D.
Dr. Haberman earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of Charleston. He then earned a master’s in renal physiology from the University of Georgia before attending Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga. Dr. Haberman completed residency training in internal medicine at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Ala., and a medical oncology fellowship at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He is board certified in internal medicine and practices at Summit Cancer Care.

Patrick Hammen, M.D.Dr. Hammen specializes in colon and rectal surgery. He attended college at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, and earned his medical degree at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Hammen completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Memorial University Medical Center, and a residency in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Texas in Houston. He practices at Memorial Health University Physicians -- Savannah Colon and Rectal Surgery.

 
Lesia Jackson, M.D.
Lesia Jackson, M.D.Dr. Jackson earned her medical degree at the University of Miami and did her residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Jackson completed a fellowship in MRI at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California. She is the director of breast imaging at Memorial University Medical Center.

Martin Johnston, M.D.
Martin Johnston, M.D.Dr. Johnston is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the George and Marie Backus Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. He earned his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Johnston then completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University Medical Center. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology.

Robert E. Jones, M.D.
Robert E. Jones, M.D.Dr. Jones earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi and his medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his residency in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Virginia. Jones then completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery.

Harvey Lebos, M.D.
Harvey Lebos, M.D.Dr. Lebos is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He earned his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Lebos then did his post-doctoral training at Wake Forest University-Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the University of Miami School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital and Clinics. He completed residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology. Lebos is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology. He practices at Summit Cancer Care.

S. Alan Lord , M.D.
S. Alan Lord , M.D.Dr. Lord earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He continued his training in the surgical residency program at Memorial University Medical Center and then completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He practices at Memorial Health University Physicians -- Savannah Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Barry Luskey, M.D.
Barry Luskey, M.D.Dr. Luskey specializes in hematology and oncology. He earned his undergraduate degree at Stanford University and attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship training at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Luskey practices at Summit Cancer Care.

Stephen Morris, M.D.Dr. Morris specializes in pulmonary care. He completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University and earned his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis and did a fellowship in pulmonary/critical care medicine at Washington University School of Medicine. Morris practices at Memorial Health University Physicians -- Savannah Center for Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

O. George Negrea, M.D.
Dr. Negrea specializes in hematology and oncology. He attended college at the National College Dragos Voda in Sighet, Romania. Negrea then went to medical school at Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago in the Dominican Republic. He completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at Mt. Vernon Hospital in Mount Vernon, New York. Negrea currently practices at Coastal Hematology and Oncology, P.C. in Savannah. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Romanian.

Lorraine E. Pare, M.D.
Dr. Pare specializes in anatomical and clinical pathology. She practices at Savannah Pathology Services. Pare received her undergraduate degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She earned her medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta, where she also completed her internship in internal medicine and her residency in anatomical and clinical pathology. Pare is board certified in anatomical and clinical pathology.

James E. Ramage, Jr., M.D.Dr. Ramage specializes in pulmonary care. He attended Stanford University and then earned a medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. Ramage completed his residency training at Emory University Hospital before training as a fellow in pulmonary, critical care, and respiratory medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He practices at Memorial Health University Physicians -- Savannah Center for Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

L.E. "Bud" Robertson, M.D.
L.E. "Bud" Robertson, M.D.Dr. Robertson specializes in hematology and oncology. He studied biology at Baylor University in Texas and attended medical school at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Robertson has been practicing in Savannah since 1991 and is currently with Summit Cancer Care.

Ray Rudolph, M.D.
Ray Rudolph, M.D.Dr. Rudolph specializes in treating breast cancer. He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of South Dakota. After graduation, Rudolph completed his internship and residency training in surgery at Memorial University Medical Center. He is the co-founder of the Memorial Health University Physicians -- Center for Breast Care, the only facility in the region that specializes exclusively in the treatment of breast conditions.

Christopher Senkowski, M.D.
Christopher Senkowski, M.D.Dr. Senkowski practices with ACI -- Surgical Associates. He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan and attended Harvard Medical School. Senkowski then completed his internship and residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He is board certified in surgery and critical care and has earned a number of awards for his outstanding surgical skills. In 2008, he was appointed to the Coding and Reimbursement Committee of the Society of Surgical Oncology. Senkowski was among the first surgeons in the nation to perform single incision laparoscopic surgery for gallbladder removal. Senkowski has also served on humanitarian surgical relief missions in Sri Lanka and participated in Médecins Sans Frontières in Paris, France.

Oliver Whipple, M.D.
Oliver Whipple, M.D.Dr. Whipple earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. He completed his internship and residency training in surgery at Memorial University Medical Center. Whipple then completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. He practices at Memorial Health University Physicians -- Savannah Colon and Rectal Surgery.

John Whittle, M.D.
John Whittle, M.D. Dr. Whittle is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at George and Marie Backus Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. He holds a medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth. Whittle also completed his residency training at Medical College of Virginia. He then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Whittle is board eligible in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.
