Medical oncology is the process of managing and treating cancer with medication. It is often referred to as chemotherapy and is one of the most common treatments for cancer. Chemotherapy comes in many different forms. Some people receive chemotherapy on an outpatient basis, meaning they come to us for treatment and then return home to recover that same day. Others stay in the hospital throughout their treatment.
