The Backus Children's Hospital Outpatient Center provides medical care for children from birth through age 18. The Outpatient Center is similar to a multi-specialty physician practice, providing both primary and specialty care. Services include:
- Regular health and well-baby checkups
- Care for colds, ear infections, gastrointestinal problems, or other childhood illnesses
- Hematology and oncology treatment, including the administration of chemotherapy, blood products, and antibiotics and care and maintenance of central lines
- Nephrology services
- Care for genetic disorders
- Endocrinology services
- Asthma care, including jet nebulizer and pulse oximetry services
- Infectious disease treatment
- Developmental care
- Follow-up care after emergency department visits and hospital stays
The physicians, nurses, and therapists in the Outpatient Center work to ensure the health and well-being of every child.
