MRI Unit

Occasionally, children need to undergo a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedure. This entails creating an image of the body using a large magnet. At Backus Children's Hospital, children receive sedation from a qualified pediatric anesthesiologist before the MRI. This is so that children are able to remain absolutely still throughout the procedure. An experienced team of nurses monitors your child to ensure that he or she is comfortable and secure throughout the MRI process.
