Marilyn Buck, Ed.D., MSN, R.N., joined the Memorial Health Board of Directors in 2010. She became secretary of the Board in 2014. She is a professor of nursing emerita at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) in Savannah. Buck served at AASU for 34 years before retiring in 2008. She moved through the faculty ranks, eventually serving as head of the Department of Nursing, assistant dean of the College of Health Professions, and interim dean of the college. She received awards for Outstanding Faculty Member and Distinguished Services to the University.
Buck graduated from Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing, Boston University, the Medical College of Georgia, and the University of South Carolina. She has served on the boards of Provident Health Services, Community Cardiovascular Council, Partners for Community Health, and the Tobacco Use Prevention Coalition.
