Kerry Watson joined Memorial Health as interim chief executive officer (CEO) in April 2017. He is a proven healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in leading, managing, and directing major hospitals and healthcare organizations. Watson is president & CEO of Watson Healthcare & Management Solutions, which provides executive-level hospital management and operations to hospitals and healthcare systems.
Before joining Memorial, he served as interim system COO for Arnot Health, a regional integrated healthcare system with three hospitals, an extended network of primary care offices, specialized care centers, and medical facilities. Watson also served as hospital president for Arnot Ogden Medical Center, the system’s flagship 256-bed tertiary medical center in Elmira, New York.
During his career, Watson also served as president of Newton-Wellesley Hospital, a 330-bed affiliate teaching hospital in the Partners Healthcare System in Boston, Massachusetts, and as president of Duke Regional Hospital, a 369-bed teaching hospital affiliated with Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina.
Watson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in radiological sciences and health administration from George Washington University and a Master of Arts degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. He has served as a member of the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board for Region 1 and Region 3, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and both the Massachusetts Hospital Association Board of Trustees, and the North Carolina Hospital Association Board of Trustees.
