Ira Berman, J.D., joined the Memorial Health Board of Directors in 2010. He is senior vice president, administration and general counsel at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. He also serves as a corporate vice president of General Dynamics Corporation, Gulfstream’s parent company. Berman has been at Gulfstream since 1997 and is responsible for legal, human resources, environmental, health and safety, security, facilities, risk management, and real estate services at the company.
Before joining Gulfstream, Berman was a partner in the corporate department of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York City. He graduated in 1986 from New York University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and Law Review. Berman earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983.
Berman has served on the boards of directors of United Way of the Coastal Empire, Bethesda Home for Boys, Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity, and the Savannah Symphony. He and his wife, Helen Borrello, have two daughters.
