(April 19, 2017) – The Memorial Health Board of Directors & the Chatham County Hospital Authority (CCHA) announced today that they have signed a Letter of Intent for HCA to acquire Memorial’s assets and continue its core services to area residents.
(March 31, 2017) – The Memorial Health Foundation Board of Trustees welcomed a new chairman from among its ranks and confirmed five new members at its meeting last month. Paul Hamilton, already a member of the board, assumed the position of chairman from Bill Donahue. The five new members are Laura Samford Armitage, Gus H. Bell III, Toby Hollenberg, Charles Tarver, and Nancy Thomas.
(March 21, 2017) – The Memorial Health Board of Directors announced today that it has selected Kerry Watson to serve as interim CEO. Watson is a proven healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in leading, managing, and directing major hospitals and healthcare organizations. He will join Memorial Health the week of April 17.
(March 20, 2017) – Parker’s Emergency & Trauma Center at Memorial University Medical Center is partnering with Safe Kids Savannah and the Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute at the University of Georgia to offer the “Parents Reducing Injuries and Driver Error (PRIDE)” course April 10.
(March 14, 2017) – The Charles A. Frueauff Foundation awarded $30,000 to the sickle cell program at the Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah at Memorial Health. The grant will fund a dedicated nurse educator, outreach and community education, and a summer camp experience for children living with this chronic illness.
(February 28, 2017) – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia customers enrolled in health plans that utilize the Pathway (or Pathway X) network in southeast Georgia now have access to Memorial Health.
