    (August 18, 2015) – Savannah radio stations 98.7 The River and WTKS News Radio 97.7 FM and 1290 AM will present Savannah’s third annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Radiothon to benefit The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC). The radiothon will feature inspiring stories of hope and healing from local families. Listeners will have an opportunity to donate to The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. Featured hosts will be morning radio personalities Murphy, Sam, and Jodi, along with Bill Edwards, Laura Anderson, and Mark Robertson, broadcasting live from the main lobby at MUMC.

    MUMC Named Gold Partner for Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donation Advocacy -

    (August 13, 2015) – Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) was among a select group of hospitals nationwide to achieve Gold Level status for organ and tissue donation and registration.  Memorial University Medical Center earned gold recognition through the Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign, a program launched in 2011 by HHS’s Health Resources and Services Administration.

    Memorial Selected to Join Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative -

    (June 10, 2015) – Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) was selected to be among the first hospitals in the nation to join the Enhancing Maternity Practices (EMPower) breastfeeding initiative. EMPower Breastfeeding is a hospital-based quality improvement program in which hospitals can earn Baby-Friendly USA© designation for meeting 10 breastfeeding standards established by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. The goal of the program is to increase breastfeeding rates throughout the United States and improve public health.

    (April 15, 2015) - At 2:38 this morning, 7-pound, 11-ounce baby Levi Jarrett was welcomed at Memorial University Medical Center.  Shortly thereafter, his parents were surprised with a contribution to a Path2College 529 Plan account for Levi’s future college expenses as he was recognized as the first “Tax Day Baby” born at Memorial.
