Sleep Disorders Center

The Sleep Disorders Center at the Heart & Vascular Institute may help people with the following conditions:

• Sleep apnea (breathing stops for long periods of time during sleep)
• Insomnia (inability to sleep)
• Restless legs syndrome (involuntary kicking that disrupts sleep)
• Narcolepsy (suddenly falling asleep)

Patients spend the night in our sleep lab. Their sleep habits and vital statistics are observed and monitored. A physician reviews all of the information and recommends a course of treatment. Some people are asked to spend a second night in the lab after the intervention, to ensure that the treatment worked.

Our Sleep Disorders Center is led by a group of physicians who are board certified in neurology, sleep medicine, or pulmonolgy. Our facility has been accredited by the American Association of Sleep Medicine since 1988.

You must be referred to the Sleep Disorders Center by your physician. For more information, call 912-350-8327 or 912-350-3720.
