Clinical Laboratory Interests
The Clinical Genetics Laboratory offers molecular diagnostic testing for inherited disorders to identify gene alterations and provide better medical management options that can reduce risk by prevention or early detection. In addition, the laboratory is involved in developing new diagnostic genetic tests and updating current tests with new methodologies.

Biography
Cindy Yee, Ph.D., specializes in cancer genetics and molecular diagnostics. Yee received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in cellular and molecular pathology at Vanderbilt University. She continued her scientific laboratory training as a postdoctoral fellow and a research associate in the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Yee then accepted the position of assistant attending molecular geneticist in the Department of Medicine and became the assistant director of the Diagnostic Molecular Genetics Laboratory. She came to Savannah to supervise and direct the day-to-day operation of the Clinical Genetics Laboratory and to certify genetic test results. Yee has published 18 peer-reviewed manuscripts and several abstracts. She is working with colleague Ranjan Perera, Ph.D., to develop new molecular diagnostic tests and to improve current tests.
