The on-call schedule varies according to year in residency
and rotation. As a PGY-1 (intern), the call schedule average is every
fourth night. Pediatrics may
be every
fifth or seventh night. Obstetrics may be every fifth night.
PGY-1
- Obstetrics (8 weeks) in-hospital call averages every fifth night.
- Pediatrics inpatient (8 weeks) in-hospital call averages every fourth or fifth night depending on the size of the team.
- Family medicine inpatient call is every fourth night.
 PGY-2
- Family medicine inpatient team in-hospital overnight call is every seventh to twelfth night.
- Surgery (8 weeks). Average in-hospital call every fifth night.
- ICU (4 weeks) in-hospital call is every fourth night.
- Emergency medicine, no call.
PGY-3
- Family medicine inpatient team (8 weeks). Inpatient call is every eighth to ninth night.
