Robert Pallay, M.D.
Northwestern University Medical School
Chicago, Illinois
Dr. Pallay earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He completed his family medicine residency at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, N.J. He later owned and managed a private group practice in Hillsborough, N.J., for nearly 20 years. Dr. Pallay was medical director and later vice chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. Throughout his career, Dr. Pallay has served on numerous committees and commissions, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine. The governor of New Jersey appointed him chair of the state’s Public Health Council. Dr. Pallay is a recognized consultant and advocate for fitness, sports medicine, cultural diversity, pharmaceutical issues, and start-up ventures. He joined Memorial University Medical Center in 2007 as director of the Family Medicine Residency Program and professor and chair of the Department of Family Medicine, Mercer University School of Medicine, Savannah campus. |

Peter Andrey Rives, M.D.
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
Piscataway, New Jersey
Dr. Rives earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, N.J. He completed his family medicine residency at JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J., and completed a part-time fellowship in family medicine teaching at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He was medical director of Hartwyck Nursing Home in Plainfield, N.J., where he served as an attending in a long-term coma unit and piloted a unit for Huntington’s disease with the New Jersey Medicaid Office. Dr. Rives then began teaching full-time in Phillipsburg, N.J. He has a long record of innovation and development, including the creation of a free clinic and two new family medicine residencies. Dr. Rives has published articles on pain management and was part of a national family practice pain education project. He is a peer reviewer for the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine and his special interests include chronic pain conditions, caring for the elderly, mental health, community medicine, women’s health, practice management, occupational health, emergency/urgent care, and medical computing. He joined Memorial in 2008. |

Sarfaraz Dhanji, M.D.
Spartan Health Sciences University School of Medicine
Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia
Dr. Dhanji earned his medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University School of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at Memorial University Medical Center, where he served as administrative chief resident for the residency programs. Dr. Dhanji has special interests in practice management and medical informatics. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, Georgia Medical Society, and Iota Epsilon Alpha International Medical Honor Society. He is the fellowship director for the Applied Health Informatics Fellowship, and the associate councilor for the state of Georgia in the Southern Medical Association. |

Shauna Zaren, M.D.
Chicago Medical School
Chicago, Illinois
Dr. Zaren earned her B.A. in psychology from Northeastern Illinois University and her medical degree from Chicago Medical School. She completed her internship at Cook County Hospital and did her residency training at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, where she was chief resident. Dr. Zaren then taught family practice as a faculty member at Northwestern University while also working in private practice. She is a former president of the American Women’s Medical Association and is a diplomat of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Zaren came to Savannah in 2009. She has a special interest in women's wellness. |

Cathleen W. Quillian, D.O.
West Virginia University School of Osteopathic Medicine
Lewisburg, West Virginia
Dr. Quillian received her bachelor's degree in science education at the University of Georgia and attended medical school at West Virginia University School of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Prior to joining the family medicine faculty, Dr. Quillian was a solo practitioner at her private practice, Athens Area Family Medicine Associates, and an emergency physician at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. Dr. Quillian is also an aviation medical examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. She is board certified and is a fellow in family medicine. Dr. Quillian joined the practice in 2010. |

Sherri Schumacher, LMSW, CCM
University of South Carolina
Sherri Schumacher earned her bachelor’s degree from Savannah State University and her master's in social work from the University of South Carolina. She currently serves as behavioral scientist for the family medicine residency program at Memorial University Medical Center. Her past experience includes working with adult psychiatric and neurovascular patients, directing a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, and serving as a social worker for a hospice program. Schumacher is involved in several professional organizations and started the Georgia chapter of the American Case Management Association. |
