Applied Health Information Technology Fellowship

The Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) in Savannah, Ga., is proud to sponsor a fellowship in applied health information technology. This fellowship is the first of its kind in the country.
The fellowship stems from the MUMC Family Medicine Residency Program’s use of electronic health records. Its goal is to create leaders in healthcare technology who will take the lead as chief medical information officers or healthcare technology leaders.
Our applied health information technology fellowship combines innovative technology, computer science, and medicine to enhance patient safety and quality care. The information services team at MUMC works closely with the fellow to actively develop new programs. Projects include, but are not limited to, electronic physician order entry, the integration of a system-wide electronic health record, and systems to ease communication between the physician and clinical support staff.
The fellow utilizes a formal didactic training system with a nationally renowned university, and participates in off-site rotations at leading universities, the Center for Health I.T. at the American Academy of Family Physicians, the National Library of Medicine, and The Graham Center in Washington, D.C.
We invite you to explore our unique program to further your education and prepare you for the future of healthcare.
