Memorial University Medical Center, in compliance with ACGME’s duty hour standards, utilizes a monthly night float coverage system. Three residents are on call at night from Monday through Thursday during the hours of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Residents not on night float are on call one night per week (Friday or Saturday) two out of three weeks.
First- and third-year residents do one out of every four months of night call. PGY-2, 4s and 5s are on night call two out of every 12 months (not consecutive).
