Our History

Memorial Health Partners is the managed care division of the world-class Memorial Health system in Savannah, Georgia. Memorial Health Partners was founded in 1996, when Memorial Health decided to create a comprehensive provider network and full service medical management system for local employers.

The first network formed was called Georgia Healthcare Partnership. The network grew significantly and was renamed Memorial Health Partners (MHP) in 2004 to better reflect its affiliation with Memorial Health University Medical Center. The MHP network now offers a 26-county provider coverage area in southeast Georgia and South Carolina, including 25 hospitals, approximately 1,800 providers, and numerous ancillary providers serving more than 30,000 covered lives.

Memorial Health Partners also manages a a PPO network to fully meet the needs of our growing list of clients. Our PPO, MHP Select, is a smaller, four-county network that incldues 584 physicians, three hospitals, and 96 family/internal medicine physicians. While MHP Select is the smallest and least expensive network we provide, it offers the same full service and high quality delivered by our larger network.

Today, our comprehensive provider networks and medical management services are provided through Kanawha Healthcare Solutions. At MHP, we remain committed to providing the products, services, and educational resources needed to manage chronic disease populations, while keeping healthy people well and out of the hospital.
