Memorial Health University Physicians -- Cardivascular Thoracic (CVT) Surgery, which includes Dariush H. Heidary, M.D., and Thomas J. Yeh, M.D., was started in 1967. Dr. Heidary joined Dr. Yeh in the practice in 1977 after finishing his cardiothoracic surgery training at the Medical College of Georgia. He now serves as the medical director for the practice. In 1995, the practice joined Memorial University Medical Center.

Memorial Health University Physicians -- CVT Surgery has performed more than 10,000 heart surgeries with excellent results. In fact, the group received national attention from the Society of Thoracic Surgery when asked to participate in their mortality and morbidity data bank. This organization is responsible for keeping statistics on the mortality and morbidity rates in the United States.
