The size and scope of the Georgia Eye Institute set it
apart from other vision clinics. We provide a full spectrum of vision needs at our main office in Savannah, and we're pleased to offer additional offices in Claxton, Richmond Hill, Rincon,
Springfield, St. Simons Island, Statesboro, and Vidalia.
Our Team
The Georgia Eye Institute has a team of sub-specialists
with expertise in pediatric ophthalmology, cataracts, glaucoma,
refractive procedures, cornea procedures, ocular trauma, orbital
procedures, retina procedures, vitreous procedures, and ocular plastics.
These specialists provide immediate face-to-face consultations
with patients and colleagues when needed. We also have highly trained optometric physicians who provide routine
eye exams and contact lens fitting. There is a Georgia Eye Institute physician
on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We encourage and support continuing education and training for
all of our Team Members. In fact, 90 percent of our clinical support
staff has reached national certification levels.
Our Facilities
We are located on the same campus as the award winning Memorial
University Medical Center. This gives us access to the hospital's
world-class patient care services, technology (MRI and radiology),
and laboratory facilities. Within the Georgia Eye Institute, we
have a fully equipped surgery suite for outpatient surgical procedures.
We also have an optical dispensary with a large variety of eyeglass
frame styles, options, and prices. The Georgia Eye Optical Shop
also provides a professional, caring staff to assist in frame selection
and adjustment, including two licensed dispensing opticians. We
also have regularly scheduled visits with a certified ocularist
who can assist with the fitting and care of ocular prosthetics.
