The Rehabilitation Institute at Memorial University Medical Center offers a full-service hand therapy clinic. It is one of the largest and most well-equipped clinics in southeast Georgia. We specialize in the treatment of the following hand injuries:

  • Tendon and nerve lacerations
  • Crush injuries
  • Complex fractures
  • Work-related injuries
  • Burns
  • Replants
  • Involved wounds

Every hand rehabilitation patient receives a thorough assessment and individualized treatment plan to maximize potential and speed the return to a regular lifestyle and work. Patients may also be referred to one of our other programs for further refinement.

Services and techniques available in our hand rehabilitation program include:

  • On-site whirlpool
  • Computerized Greenleaf evaluations to determine hand function and extent of damage
  • Impairment ratings
  • BTE Work Simulator to simulate the real-life work environment
  • Continuous passive motion devices to simulate smooth joint motion
  • Electric stimulation
  • Fluidotherapy (using heat and a wavelike motion to reduce pain and swelling and increase range of motion)
