 Memorial University Medical Center's Endoscopic Procedures Center performs a variety of procedures to help diagnose and treat diseases of the
gastrointestinal tract. These procedures include colonoscopy,
esophagogastroduodenscopy, PH monitoring, hydrogen breath analysis, liver
biopsy, paracentesis, and endoscopic ultrasound.
The Endoscopic Procedures Center also performs closed urology
procedures requiring general anesthesia. These include cystoscopy, urinary
tract stone extraction, resection of bladder tumor, and ureteral stent
placement. In addition, we do transurethral resection of the prostate,
prostate seed implantation, and shockwave lithotripsy for treatment of kidney
stones. The majority of these procedures are done through same-day surgery, or
require only an overnight stay.
The Endoscopic Procedures Center employs specially trained registered nurses to
assist you and your physician during your stay. The center is open from 6 a.m.
to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You must be referred to the center by your
physician.
