(November 26, 2008) – The Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) Web site, www.memorialhealth.com, recently won two eHealthcare Leadership Awards at the 12th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference. In the category of hospitals with 400+ beds, the site earned silver awards for its “Careers” and “Newsroom” sections. The awards recognize MUMC’s commitment to online initiatives and using the Internet to communicate with patients, Team Members, and the general community.
Sites receiving the 2008 eHealthcare Leadership Awards were selected from more than 1,100 entries. A total of 114 individuals familiar with healthcare and the Internet judged the entries. They reviewed the sites based on a multi-point standard of excellence and awarded platinum, gold, silver, and distinction awards. The winners represented 17 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies.
The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program was developed and first presented nine years ago by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading Internet resource published by Health Care Communications in Rye, N.Y.
