MUMC Wins Gold Award for Online Initiatives

(November 30, 2009) - Memorial University Medical Center's (MUMC) Web site, memorialhealth.com, won a Gold eHealthcare Leadership Award at the 13th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference held in Las Vegas earlier this month.

The "Careers" section of the site earned gold recognition in the category of hospitals with 400+ beds. In particular, memorialhealth.com was noted for its use of social media to connect with the community, its Team Member testimonials, and its creativity.

There were more than 1,100 entries in 12 different award categories in the 2009 eHealthcare Leadership Awards. More than 114 individuals familiar with healthcare Internet use judged and rated the entries based on a set standard of excellence.

This award highlights MUMC's use of the Internet and online initiatives to achieve business goals and actively communicate with people throughout the community and across the country.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program was developed by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading Internet resource published by Health Care Communications in Rye, N.Y.
