(March 12, 2010) - Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) has
been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the
American College of Radiology (ACR).
The breast imaging services at MUMC are fully
accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast
ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.
To earn accreditation, MUMC had to undergo a rigorous peer
review and evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical
physicists. They evaluated each breast imaging modality (image
quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality
control procedures, and quality assurance programs) before
