James Burke, II, M.D.
James Burke, II, M.D. Dr. Burke is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University in Chicago. Following that, he obtained fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Burke specializes in gynecologic oncology at ACI – Surgical Associates.

Scott Purinton, M.D., Ph.D.
Scott Purinton, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Purinton earned his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Florida. He also holds a doctor of philosophy degree in physiology from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. He completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Purinton was then accepted for fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He came to Memorial in 2011 and practices gynecologic oncology at ACI – Surgical Associates.

David Byck, M.D.
David Byck, M.D.Dr. Byck attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He did his residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Byck is an assistant clinical professor at Mercer University School of Medicine and the director of urogynecology at Memorial University Medical Center. He is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and specializes in urogynecology at MHUP -- Provident OB/GYN Associates.

Joseph T. Stubbs, III, M.D.
Joseph T. Stubbs, III, M.D.Dr. Stubbs earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He trained as a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial University Medical and Center and completed a fellowship in urogynecology/pelvic surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. He practices at Savannah Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Center.

Buffi Boyd, M.D.
Buffi Boyd, M.D.Dr. Boyd attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She then completed a general surgery internship and a urology residency at the Medical College of Georgia. She practices at Urological Associates of Savannah.

David L. Cheng, M.D.
David L. Cheng, M.D.Dr. Cheng holds a medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. He completed his internship and residency training in urology and general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He practices at Urological Associates of Savannah.

Michael J. Cox, M.D.
Michael J. Cox, M.D.Dr. Cox attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He then did his residency work at Barnes-Jewish Hospital of Washington University in St. Louis. He is trained in advanced urological care and female urology, with specific interests in laparoscopic prolapse repair and treatment of stress urinary incontinence. Dr. Cox practices at Urological Associates of Savannah.

Samuel A. Torres, M.D.
Samuel A. Torres, M.D.Dr. Torres attended medical school at the University of the Philippines. He then completed his internship at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, and a general surgery residency at State University of New York, Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Torres then moved to Savannah and completed a urology residency at Memorial University Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in urology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He practices at Urological Associates of Savannah.

John Coursey, M.D.
John Coursey, M.D. Dr. Coursey earned his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, before doing his residency training in urology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Coursey served in the U.S. Army for more than 15 years as a urologist and flight surgeon, serving on two combat tours for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He practices at Urology Specialists of Coastal Georgia.

Anesthesiologists
Anesthesiologists are physicians trained to administer and manage anesthesia during a surgical procedure. They also monitor changes in your breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure during surgery. After surgery, your anesthesiologist will treat any conditions related to the anesthesia.
 
Registered Nurses
Registered nurses provide care and education. They will help ensure that you feel comfortable, that your pain is controlled, that you are recovering and meeting your treatment goals, and that you fully understand your treatment plan.
