Baby Basics Class
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Women's Health
Institute Conference Room located in the Center for Advanced
Medicine at Memorial Health
This three-week course provides information on caring for a newborn
and addresses the needs of a changing family. Budgeting for your
baby's arrival, breastfeeding, infant growth and development, and
infant and child CPR are included (not designed for people who need
to be CPR certified). This class is strongly recommended for first-time
parents. Register early because the class fills quickly. The cost
is $45 per couple.

Basic Breastfeeding Class
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Women's Health
Institute Conference Room located in the Center for Advanced
Medicine at Memorial Health
This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother
planning to breastfeed. Topics include nutrition, common concerns,
returning to work while breastfeeding, and the father's role in
breastfeeding. Your support person is encouraged to attend. The
cost is $20 per couple. The class fills quickly so register early.
Getting Ready for Baby Class
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the
Women's Health Institute Conference Room located in the Center for
Advanced Medicine at Memorial Health
This class combines prepared childbirth instruction and information
on caring for a newborn into a comprehensive eight-week course.
It is open to Medicaid patients and their support person. Medicaid
will pay for the class for Medicaid recipients only. Register early,
as class size is limited to 10 couples.
Labor and Delivery Tour
2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Meet in the second floor lobby at
Memorial Health University Medical Center
Want to take a look around before the big day? Register to tour
the labor and delivery suites, nursery, and postpartum areas of
the Women's Health Institute at Memorial Health University Medical
Center. The tour is free and open to the public, but pre-registration
is required.
Multiple Blessings
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Series scheduled on an as needed basis.
This four-session course is designed especially for parents expecting twins, triplets, or more. Please plan to attend this class early in your pregnancy. Our experienced staff and mothers of multiples will provide information on prenatal care, the multiple birth experience, newborn care, and life at home with more than one baby. The cost is $40 per couple. To register, call 598-1839.
Positive Parenting
7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Class scheduled on an as needed basis.
This two evening two-hour session provides parents/caregivers with positive parenting
skills who want to impact the life of a child in a positive way. Format based on
age infant-4 years old. Topics to be included are: Confidence in myself as a parent,
communicating with my child, siblings, relationships with grandparents, morning routines, feeding and nutrition, discipline, bedtime rituals, toilet training and more. Both parents/caregivers encouraged to attend. The cost is $30.00 per couple.

Prepared Childbirth Course
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Women's Health Institute Conference Room located in the Center
for Advanced Medicine at Memorial Health
This four-week course provides an overview of reproductive anatomy
and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in
simple, easy-to-understand terms. Relaxation, breathing techniques,
and comfort measures to use during labor and delivery are demonstrated.
The course includes a tour of the labor and delivery area. The cost
is $75 per couple. Class fills up quickly, so register early.
