Photon-counting CT scanner is now available at Memorial Health.
Memorial Health's new photon-counting CT scanner

Memorial Health recently unveiled its first photon-counting CT. Pushing beyond the boundaries of conventional CT, this fast and powerful scanner delivers high resolution images with consistent precision in a single scan for patients who need it most. Memorial Health is the first hospital in Georgia to offer photon-counting CT for adult patients.

The centerpiece of this innovation is the revolutionary detector that converts X-ray photons directly into electric signals without information loss. Ultra-high-resolution images deliver game-changing visualization of fine structures, revealing vivid detail beyond the scope of conventional CT.

This new technology offers significant benefits for our patients and our clinical team by generating high-resolution images with an impressive level of detail quickly and powerfully in a single scan, providing fast and reliable diagnoses for our patients. High image quality is balanced with lower dose administration. The new scanner offers a new level of detail for challenging patients who can now be scanned more frequently. With a focus on providing the best care possible to patients, this technology is redefining CT and how it supports clinical decision making.

This innovative technology represents a $7 million investment by Memorial Health and our parent company, HCA Healthcare.
