    Memorial Health University Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission. Accreditation from this organization is a nationwide seal of approval that indicates our hospital meets high performance standards. We have earned a Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission.

    Exceptional Patient Care

    In 2014, Memorial University Medical Center was again named to the Georgia Hospital Association's Partnership for Health and Accountability Core Measures Honor Roll, Presidential Category, for exceptional patient outcomes.

    Excellence in Bariatric Surgery

    Since 2008, Memorial Health Bariatrics has been named a Center of Excellence by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. We were also named an Aetna Institute of Quality for bariatric surgery.

    Excellence in Breast Care

    Memorial University Medical Center is accredited in stereotactic breast biopsy and breast MRI by the American College of Radiology. The breast care services at the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center are accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, a program of the American College of Surgeons. Our Breast Imaging Center's mammography services are accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the FDA. We are also designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.

    Excellence in Cancer Care

    The Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute (ACI) at Memorial University Medical Center earned Accreditation with Commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. The ACI also earned an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer.

    Excellence in Endoscopy

    Our Gastrointestinal Procedures Center of Excellence earned a Certificate of Recognition from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for our commitment to patient safety and quality in endoscopy

    Excellence in Heart and Vascular Care  

    The Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial University Medical Center holds disease-specific certification from The Joint Commission for providing evidence-based guidelines for heart failure patients. The Heart & Vascular Institute also earned Chest Pain Accreditation with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. And, we earned a Get With the Guidelines -- Heart Failure Silver Plus Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. 

    Excellence in Joint Replacement Surgery

    Memorial University Medical Center met rigorous quality and financial standards to earn Blue Cross and Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center+ designation. Cigna named us a Center of Excellence. And, we've earned specialty designation from The Joint Commission for our knee and hip replacement programs every year since 2011. 

    Excellence in Spine Surgery

    Memorial University Medical Center was named a Blue Distinction Center+ for spine surgery by Blue Cross Blue Shield. We were named a Cigna Center of Excellence. And we've specialty center designation from The Joint Commission for spine surgery services every year since 2011.  

    Excellence in Stroke Services

    Memorial University Medical Center is certified by The Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. We have received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award every year since 2012. In 2012, Memorial University Medical Center was the first hospital in Georgia and one of the first five in the nation to be named on the Target: Stroke Honor Roll, and we still hold a place on this prestigious list today. We've also been designated a Cigna Center of Excellence. 

    Excellence in Women's Health

    Memorial University Medical Center was named a Blue Distinction Center+ maternal care. We also received recognition from The March of Dimes for reducing elective deliveries before 39 weeks gestation.
