• William Burak Jr., M.D., Breast Surgeon
    Dr. William Burak is a board-certified surgical oncologist. He completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at The Ohio State University. He also completed a research fellowship studying hormones and cancer in the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Ohio State. Dr. Burak completed his residency training in general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Systems and served as administrative chief resident. He graduated cum laude from Jefferson Medical College, part of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Burak spent most of his career as a tenured faculty member at The Ohio State University and the James Cancer Hospital where he received awards for his teaching and research. His work is published in numerous clinical journals and textbooks. Before coming to Savannah, Dr. Burak practiced in the Atlanta area, where he served as director of Advanced Breast Care of Georgia.

    Elena Rehl, M.D., Breast Surgeon
    Dr. Elena Rehl is a U.S. Army surgeon and a decorated veteran. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and a post-baccalaureate degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She then completed medical school at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Rehl did her residency training in general surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. Beginning in 2005, she served overseas as an Army surgeon in Wurzburg, Germany; Tallil, Tikrit, Baji, and Baghdad, Iraq; Landstuhl, Germany; Ghana, Africa; and Al Asad, Iraq. She also worked at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Dr. Rehl later completed a breast surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She came to the Center for Breast Care in Savannah in 2013. Dr. Rehl has earned a Bronze Star Medal, a Meritorious Service Award, an Army Commendation Medal, a National Defense Services Medal, an Iraqi Campaign Medal with a Star, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and a Parachutist Badge. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

    Catie Bell, Certified Nurse Practitioner
    Catie Bell, N.P., earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. She began her nursing career at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia, before coming to Memorial Health in 1996. Bell originally worked as a nurse practitioner in OB/GYN, and joined the Center for Breast Care in 2005. She sees patients with benign and malignant breast diseases and assists with ultrasounds, biopsies, and minor surgical procedures.
