• Noon Conference Family Medicine

    Thank you for your interest in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial University Medical Center. We accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We began accepting applications for the upcoming academic year on September 15, 2016. The deadline for applications is December 15, 2016. 

    A complete application consists of the following:

    • Common application form (include photograph)
    • Personal statement
    • Dean’s letter
    • Medical school transcript
    • USMLE transcript or COMLEX transcript 
    • ECFMG certification (if you are a foreign medical school graduate)
    • Two years of U.S. clinical experience, including a family medicine core rotation
    • Three letters of recommendation, one must be written by a family medicine physician

    All applications are reviewed by the program director. If you are selected for an interview, you will receive an email to access an online scheduling system to schedule your interview. Interviews are scheduled from November 1 to December 22, 2016. We participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP).

    We are looking for residents with a definite interest in family medicine, academic talent, and high class standing. Additional criteria/information:

    • Graduated medical school within the last two years
    • FMG/IMG and D.O. degrees accepted
    • Passed USMLE steps 1 and 2, minimum score of 205 on first attempt
    • Passed COMLEX level 1 and 2, minimum score of 450 on first attempt
    • No observership, externship, part-time, or shared positions offered
    • Visas not accepted or sponsored
    • Interest in practicing in Georgia after graduation

    Once an interview is scheduled, you will be sent a confirmation letter. We will provide hotel accommodations the night before your interview at SpringHill Suites Mariott Savannah Historic District. Check-in at the hotel is 6 p.m. the day before your interview. The residents will meet in the hotel lobby for dinner that night at 7:30 p.m. Your interview day starts at 8:15 a.m. and should finish around 2 p.m. if you are traveling with a guest, he or she is welcome to join you for dinner. Taxi service is available for transportation from the airport to the hotel and back. A hotel shuttle is available to transport you from the hotel to the Family Medicine Center Front Lobby.
