• MazoWelcome to the Pediatric Residency Program at the Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children's Hospital of Savannah. We are a small to medium-sized program based at a community tertiary medical center which serves as the safety net hospital for southeast Georgia. Our residents have exposure to a broad case mix of both general and subspecialty patients, providing experience caring for both the common and rare disease states of pediatrics. The program and institution foster a commitment to the community as highlighted by a robust community pediatrics curriculum that engages and challenges residents to better meet the needs of our patients and their families both in and outside of the hospital. Our program has a unique focus on patient safety and patient care quality, and residents receive specific training on quality and process improvement during their residency so that they may go on to be champions of quality care in their practices. The size of the program and enduring presence of many of the core faculty truly creates a sense of family and a lasting professional network for our residents.

There is extensive community support for the Willett Children's Hospital, including a major effort on the part of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The Willett Children's Hospital is an active participant in many community agencies, local and regional health departments, and urban and rural health projects.

Memorial University Medical Center is a major academic center serving as the Savannah campus for Mercer University School of Medicine. Medical students and residents from every major specialty train throughout the hospital.

In addition to providing world-class pediatric healthcare services, Savannah is a great place to live. It is the site of one of the largest historic districts in the United States. Located just 20 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, Savannah offers year-round recreational opportunities and sporting events. We also have dozens of museums, multiple theater companies, and monthly arts and entertainment festivals.

We think you will be as enthusiastic about our pediatric residency and our outstanding city as we are.
