  • Mazo
    Susan Mazo, M.D.
    Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program at Memorial University Medical Center

    Dr. Susan Mazo completed her medical education at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and her pediatric residency at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. After completing her residency, Dr. Mazo began a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Michigan Hospitals. She joined the pediatric faculty at Memorial University Medical Center in 1986 as the pediatric infectious diseases specialist. Dr. Mazo is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases.

    Niebanck
    Alison Niebanck, M.D.
    Associate Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program at Memorial University Medical Center

    Dr. Alison Niebanck received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was named chief resident. Dr. Niebanck joined the faculty at The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center as a general pediatrician in the Outpatient Center in 2009. She is is board certified in pediatrics.

    Bossak
    Michael Bossak, M.D.
    Pediatric Hospitalist

    Dr. Michael Bossak received his medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius in the Netherlands Antilles. He completed his residency training in pediatrics at Memorial University Medical Center and was hired as a full-time faculty member. Dr. Bossak is board certified in pediatrics.

    Karen J. Browner-Elhanan, M.D.
    Adolescent Medicine

    Dr. Karen Browner-Elhanan received her medical degree from the Tel Aviv University in Tel Aviv, Israel. She completed a pediatric residency at the Maimonides Infants and Children's Hospital in Brooklyn and a fellowship in adolescent medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Bronx. Dr. Browner-Elhanan is board certified in pediatrics and adolescent medicine.

    Donna L. Evans, M.D.
    Ambulatory Pediatrics and Child Abuse

    Dr. Donna Evans received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1992 and entered a two-year ambulatory pediatrics fellowship at Memorial University Medical Center. Upon completion of this fellowship, Dr. Evans was hired as a full-time faculty member. She is a member of the Child Fatality Review Committee in Savannah and the Child Fatality Task Force at Memorial. Dr. Evans is board certified in pediatrics and child abuse.

    Hogan
    Natalie M. Hogan, M.D.
    Pediatric Hospitalist

    Dr. Natalie Hogan received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Richland Memorial Hospital University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Columbia, S.C., in 1997. She then entered a one-year ambulatory pediatrics fellowship at Memorial University Medical Center. Upon completion of this fellowship, Dr. Hogan joined Memorial as a part-time faculty member. She is board certified in pediatrics.

    Martin Johnston, M.D.
    Director, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

    Dr. Martin Johnston received his medical degree from Duke University in Durham, N.C. He went on to complete his residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Johnston is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.

    Jessica Kobleur, M.D.
    Pediatric Hospitalist and Ambulatory Pediatrics

    Dr. Jessica Kobleur received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA. After practicing in Augusta, she joined Memorial as a full-time faculty member in the Children’s Hospital Outpatient Center. Dr. Kobleur is board certified in pediatrics.

    Lytle
    Mary Carol Lytle, M.D.
    Pediatric Critical Care

    Dr. Mary Carol Lytle received her medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. She completed a pediatric residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric critical care at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and a fellowship in research at the Blood Research Institute in Milwaukee. Dr. Mary Carol Lytle is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care.

    Thomas W. McKee, M.D.
    Pediatric Critical Care

    Dr. Thomas W. McKee received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock in 1981. From 1981 to 1985, Dr. McKee served as associate director of pediatric education. He completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Shands Hospital - University of Florida. Dr. McKee is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care.

    Margaret McKenna, M.D.
    Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics

    Dr. Margaret McKenna received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, Jackson, MS. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and went on to complete a fellowship in developmental/behavioral pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC. Dr. McKenna is board certified in pediatrics and developmental/behavioral pediatrics.

    Andrew Pendleton, M.D.

    Dr. Andrew Pendleton received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, SC. He completed a pediatric residency at Carolinas Medical Center Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. Dr. Pendleton is board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology.

    Alan Rice, M.D.
    Pediatric Endocrinology

    Dr. Alan Rice received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Florida. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans and went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Rice is board certified pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology.

    Kelly Solms, M.D.
    Ambulatory Pediatrics and Newborn Nursery

    Dr. Kelly Solms earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia in 1996 and entered private practice in Augusta. Dr. Solms was chair of the Department of Pediatrics at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta for several years before entering private practice in Waycross, Ga. In 2008, Dr. Solms joined the faculty of The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center as a general pediatrician in our Outpatient Center. She is board certified in pediatrics.

    Stephen Thacker, M.D.
    Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Hospitalist

    Dr. Stephen Thacker received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Thacker is board certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric infectious diseases.

    Laura Vose, D.O.

    Dr. Laura Vose received her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed a pediatric residency at All Children's Hospital, University of South Florida in St. Petersburg. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric critical care at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Vose is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care.

    John P. Whittle Jr., M.D.

    Dr. John Whittle received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2005 and went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008. Dr. Whittle is board certified in pediatrics.
