    (December 9, 2015) – The Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council will host an open enrollment event for The Health Insurance Marketplace and the Savannah Campaign for Healthy Kids at the Savannah Civic Center on Thursday, December 10, from 3 to 7 p.m. on the second floor in the Bryan, DeVeaux, and Musgrove rooms. Open enrollment ends January 31, 2016. The event is co-sponsored by Memorial Health.

    14th Annual Patrick’s Ride, October 17 -

    (September 11, 2015) – On Saturday, October 17, 60 people will pedal from Savannah to Augusta to raise money for cancer programs. Cyclists from around the region will participate in the 14th annual Patrick’s Ride. Riders will depart from the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute (ACI) at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah at 6 a.m. and arrive at the Riverwalk in Augusta around 6 p.m.

    (June 10, 2015) – Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) was selected to be among the first hospitals in the nation to join the Enhancing Maternity Practices (EMPower) breastfeeding initiative. EMPower Breastfeeding is a hospital-based quality improvement program in which hospitals can earn Baby-Friendly USA© designation for meeting 10 breastfeeding standards established by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.     MUMC Participating in National Lumbar Spinal Stenosis Clinical Trial -

    (May 6, 2013) Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) is participating in a clinical trial that may redefine lumbar spinal stenosis surgery. The study focuses on a new concept in spine surgery called facet joint replacement. The trial evaluates the safety and effectiveness of an investigational device called the ACADIAFacet Replacement System. MUMC is the only hospital in Georgia and one of only 30 in the U.S. participating in this study.

    MUMC Cancer Program Granted Prestigious Accreditation -

    (January 23, 2013) – The Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute (ACI) at Memorial University Medical Center has been granted a Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation by The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. The CoC accreditation is only given to facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and agree to undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance every three years. This is the second consecutive CoC accreditation that the ACI has received. The ACI is the only facility in the Savannah area to receive Accreditation with Commendation.
