We require radiology residents to participate in Memorial University Medical Center's Research Day for at least TWO research projects during their four years here. This may take the form of clinical research, imaging techniques, or practice management issues. In the PGY-5 year, residents must participate in a performance improvement project. All of these projects are completed under faculty supervision. The results of these projects must be submitted for publication or presentation at an an institutional, local, regional or national meeting.
Residents who submit papers to journals receive supervision, guidance, and support from the diagnostic faculty. Residents who submit papers accepted for presentation at radiology meetings are encouraged and their expenses (up to $1,000) may be paid by the hospital.
