Memorial Health welcomes new breast surgeon

Dr. Bennett will provide comprehensive treatment for breast cancer and benign breast diseases.

Memorial Health University Physicians Breast Care is pleased to welcome board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Katie Bennett, to their Waters Avenue location.

Dr. Bennett hails from Newnan, GA and most recently completed her Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship with Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Center. She is board certified in general surgery and completed her residency with the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA where she was elected as chief resident by her peers.

Working alongside experienced breast surgeon, Dr. William Burak, and a multidisciplinary team of breast cancer experts, Dr. Bennett will provide comprehensive treatment for breast cancer and benign breast diseases, including performing mastectomies, lumpectomies and sentinel lymph node biopsies, to support her patients.

Dr. Bennett is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and American Society of Breast Surgeons. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, fly fishing, gardening and trying new restaurants.
