Memorial Satilla Health joined HCA Healthcare facilities nationwide in April for the organization’s We Show Up® for Our Communities volunteer initiative, demonstrating a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of local communities.
As part of the initiative, hospital leaders and staff packed 200 food bags for the Okefenokee Alliance for the Homeless (OATH) and volunteered during a warehouse cleanup day at DC Downtown Food Ministries. These efforts supported local organizations working to meet the needs of individuals and families across the region.
“These projects reflect our commitment to caring for our community beyond the walls of our hospital,” said CEO Damon Barrett. “We are proud to show up for our neighbors and partner with organizations making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
The volunteer activities coincided with National Volunteer Month and highlight Memorial Satilla Health’s dedication to strengthening the communities it serves through service, partnerships, and outreach.
As part of HCA Healthcare, Memorial Satilla Health is committed to building healthier communities through volunteerism, charitable giving, and collaboration. In 2024, HCA Healthcare colleagues contributed more than $18 million in charitable donations with company matching and volunteered over 240,000 hours nationwide.
