I’m Becky Hammock, a 16-year colleague at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, in the Health Information Management department. As a Health Information Specialist, I have the opportunity to meet with our physicians on a regular basis and I am a patient of some for my healthcare.

Dr. Susanna Meredith, OB/GYN with Memorial Health Meadows Physicians Women’s Care, is my personal physician. In 2022, I received a diagnosis that would require a partial hysterectomy. As anyone would be, I was nervous about having surgery and the long recovery that typically follows. Dr. Meredith explained to me that I was a candidate for robotic surgery and went on to describe all that it entails, including a quicker recovery time, and this made me feel more at ease about the procedure.

Fast forward to recovery, I spent only one night in the hospital for observation purposes and over the course of the next several days, my pain level required nothing more than Ibuprofen. By day four, I was out and about and experienced only minimal tenderness at the surgical site. As someone who has had surgical procedures in the past, this was by far the easiest of them all. I would not hesitate to recommend robotic surgery to anyone that is contemplating a procedure. Dr. Meredith, the surgical staff, and my nurses, were fantastic and I just want to thank them for the great care they provided to me!
