Treatment for cancer and blood disorders in children
We know that having a child diagnosed with cancer can be difficult, not only for your child, but also your whole family. Following a diagnosis, we tailor a personalized treatment plan to meet your child's health needs. This may include:
- Coordination of care for blood and marrow transplants
- Nonsurgical options, such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy
- Pediatric surgery
Our pediatric oncologists and hematologists are with you and your family every step of the way.
Outpatient hematology oncology services
Our Pediatric Multispecialty Clinic provides outpatient care for cancer and bleeding disorders. Here, your child may receive chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics and other infusion services. This is also where we provide care for and maintain central lines that provide medications and other fluids.

Pediatric cancer support services
Our hospital offers support groups to help your child and your family throughout cancer treatment and recovery. Our support groups include:
- Pediatric oncology patient and parent support (POPPS) — POPPS offers education, emotional support and interaction for your family. Monthly activities may include recreational outings for families, as well as support activities and discussions about psychoeducational topics for caregivers. This group meets on the third Monday of every month.
- Relief parent support group — This group is for parents who have a seriously ill child receiving inpatient or outpatient treatment. The group is facilitated by our social workers, and a child life specialist is present to provide arts and crafts activities for the children. The purpose of these meetings is to provide parents with relief and a safe place to interact with and support each other.
