Pediatric critical care
We use specialized equipment to treat children 6 weeks old and older who are in need of advanced care.
Services offered in our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
Some of the treatments and services we offer include:
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) — This is a special type of dialysis treatment used to filter blood when the kidneys are not functioning correctly.
- Helium-oxygen treatments — The mixture of these two gases can be used to help your child if they are experiencing acute asthma attacks.
- High-frequency oscillatory ventilation — This machine helps control airway pressure if your child has respiratory dysfunction.
- Nitric oxide therapy — This treatment helps your child in the PICU if they are experiencing respiratory failure.
- Pediatric emergency team — This team is a dedicated group of healthcare professionals with specialized training in stabilizing and treating critically ill children.

Our goal is to ensure that your child admitted to the PICU receives comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a calming environment. In our PICU, our staff is experienced in treating children with life-threatening illnesses.
