Talk directly to a nurse, any time

Consult-A-Nurse® is a free service that provides you with physician referrals and health information 24/7.

Our RNs and referral specialists can help you find a doctor, answer your healthcare questions and register for classes and events.

Information and guidance for our patients

We want you to have as much information as possible about the care you'll receive in our hospital and what to expect before, during and after your time with us.

ATM

We have ATMs in our main lobby and outside of our cafeteria on the lower level. You can also find banks within walking distance of our campus.

Your meals are nutritionally balanced and freshly prepared on-site every day. If you don't have any dietary restrictions, you can choose from a variety of menu options. Ask your nurse for more information.

Visitors are also welcome to dine in our cafe, which is open during the following hours:

  • Dinner — 4:30pm to 7:00pm

We have a coffee shop on the first floor in our main lobby. It is open from 6:30am to 10:00pm on weekdays, and from 8:00am to 4:00pm on weekends.

Guest Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available in designated areas of our hospital. You must be within range of an access point and select MHUMC-Guest from the list of available networks. No password is required, but you must agree to the terms and conditions to proceed.

Hospitalists

Hospitalists, also known as internal medicine or family medicine physicians, act as liaisons between you and your care team. With nurse practitioners, physician assistants and clinical support staff as well, these dedicated professionals are available 24/7, make daily visits and help to expedite the care process so you can potentially have a shorter hospital stay.

If your primary care doctor requests it, your hospitalist will take charge of your hospital care. They will then regularly update your primary care doctor about your health, progress and any significant findings. Hospitalists work with your doctor to prepare a treatment plan at the time of admission, and when you leave the hospital, they will inform your doctor of any further treatment needs, follow-up care and necessary prescriptions.

Interpretation services

We give you access to interpreters across dozens of foreign languages, as well as American Sign Language. Additionally, our telephone interpretation service allows you to communicate with your physicians and nurses in different languages. For assistance, call our dedicated interpretation services team at (912) 350-0222.

Recognize a care team member

If you have a positive experience during your stay, you can nominate members of your care team for The BEE Award and The DAISY Award. Additionally, The Extra Mile Award is another opportunity to recognize somebody from our staff who made an exceptional impact on you.

PFCC initiative

Our PFCC initiative provides you and your loved ones with the unique opportunity to work directly with your healthcare team. You, your family and friends are invited to participate in decision-making and may even help with certain procedures. We allow for as much or as little involvement as you want, based on your own comfort level. There are multiple core concepts of PFCC, including:

  • Collaboration — Improve the level of care by working with you and your family
  • Dignity and Respect — Honor your family’s choices and respect their decisions
  • Information Sharing — Communicate with you and your family in a thoughtful and timely manner
  • Participation — Encourage you and your loved ones to participate in your care and decision-making

Plus Care Network

If you need further care after your time at our facility, we can help you find the support you need and deserve. Our Plus Care Network connects you to quality healthcare providers we partner with.
