Lung cancer screening services
Our lung cancer screening program aims to detect lung cancer early, while it is most treatable. Individuals who undergo screening receive a low-dose computerized tomography (LDCT) scan of the lungs, which can show any abnormalities within the lungs that may be cancerous.
There are certain criteria you must meet in order to receive this type of screening, including if you are:
- 20 pack-year history of smoking or greater
- Between 50 and 80 years old
- Current smoker or a former smoker who has quit within the past 15 years
If you want to learn more about your eligibility to participate in lung cancer screening, talk to your primary care physician. Your doctor will discuss the benefits of screening and if it is a good choice for you.

Minimally invasive bronchoscopy
Our family of hospitals were the first in the state of Georgia to offer robot-assisted bronchoscopies. This procedure uses a thin, flexible tube equipped with a camera to take images and complete biopsies of the lungs. A bronchoscopy is most often used to treat individuals with lung nodules, and offers numerous benefits, such as:
- Ability to reach the entire lung safely
- Earlier detection of lung cancer with greater accuracy
- Outpatient procedure
